The rainy season

A new book that I finished just before christmas. This will be put together in 2009, sometime when I don't have much else to do. For now it goes into the plan chest.

60 years project

The 60 Years project aims to creatively commemorate the 60th anniversary of UDHR (Universal Declaration of Human Rights): the first global expression of rights to which all human beings are inherently entitled.
Designers have been invited to take part by writing or drawing on a mini protest board to exercise their right to free speech and self-expression. See more about all this here

A couple of pages from new Scientist about how new species and discoveries can be given whimsical names by their finders eg "Rowling, Takei and Rammstein- Celebrities honoured by having asteroids named after them include the author of the Harry Potter books, a Star Trek actor and a German industrial metal band."

Cheap Date- The name of a gene mutation which gives vinegar flies a heightened susceptibility to alcohol.

Christmas by colour

Christmas by colour is a not for profit exploration into the colours that shape our christmas. Raw design studio set up this collaborative project to identify which colours people really associate with christmas. They've now produced an A1 poster limited to 500 copies and A2 wrapping paper sheets. It seems either my 'Parker pen set blue' or 'Ebay yellow' made it through to the poster, not sure which. All profits willl be donated to CALM.

A painting a day

Dan Young is making a painting a day for the foreseeable future. From chicken head knobs to wooden foxes each one is then auctioned off to the highest bidder on ebay. Maybe buy a christmas present for yourself or someone else from his site

big finger
I've just finished 3 new screenprints. "Get set go' which is brand new. 'Relax and move to the country' a smaller version of which I used in a mailer and '4 colour monster' which is an rework of the 3 colour version I did some time ago. It makes a bit more sense in 4 colours with the full CMYK. These will be up in my shop in the next couple of weeks, along with a second edition of the previously sold out "They quickly ran...' book.

I've just sent out this screenprinted mailout to various people so watch out for it arriving on your doorstep. The envelope is made from recycled cardboard.
